Ole Miss Baseball 2025

Hunter Elliott

Ole Miss turned in a turn-around season in 2025, going 43-21. Since winning the national title in 2022, the Rebels turned in two losing seasons, going 25-29 in 2023, and 27-29 in 2024, but the 2025 The Rebels played for the SEC championship, losing to Vanderbilt 3-2, and they hosted an NCAA regional, making it to the final game against the Murray State Racers, again dropping the game by a run, 12-11. The regional was fun. Ole Miss lost the opener to Murray State, then had to battle through the losers bracket, winning three straight games. On Saturday, they won against Western Kentucky, and on Sunday they won games against Georgia Tech and Murray State, setting up the deciding game with the Racers for Monday night. The Racers won that game 12-11, out-hitting the Rebels 19-11. They lit up the Rebels, actually, until Hunter Elliott came in for the 8th inning and shut them down. Hunter Elliott played a critical role in Ole Miss’ 2022 run to the national championship, and as far as I can tell by comparing both rosters, he is the only current player remaining from that championship team, and he still has one more year of eligibility, so maybe Ole Miss can keep him for one more year. The 2023 and 2024 seasons were both pretty dismal, with Elliott sitting out both because of recovery from Tommy Johns surgery, and the year they got him back at full health, the Rebs turned it around and turned in 43 wins. It was a good season. Hotty Toddy!
